Save & research

Highlight your research on any website

Select a line, click Highlight and add a comment if you like. It stays on the page for next time, and everyone in your Spot sees it too, so a group project lives on the pages you’re reading.

SPOT runs in Chrome on your computer.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add SPOT to Chrome

Free from the Chrome Web Store.

  2. 2

    Highlight as you read

Select any text and click Highlight. Add a comment to say why it matters.

  3. 3

    Come back to it

Your highlights stay on the page and in your Spot’s Activity.

Questions?

Do my highlights stay on the page?

Yes. Open the page again and they’re there, and your Spot’s Activity lists them too.

Can classmates or teammates see them?

Make a Spot and send them the invite link. Everyone in it sees each other’s highlights and comments on the same pages.

Who can see what I add?

In your Spot, only the people in it. Outside a Spot you’re in the page’s public space, where anyone with SPOT on that page can see it.

Does it work on every website?

Almost all of them, from YouTube to your favorite shop. Chrome doesn’t let extensions run on its own pages, like the new tab page or the Chrome Web Store.
